Folder WAVFolder WAV Privacy Policy
Folder WAV is made by Sean Kaiser, doing business as OurHumanPower ("we", "us").
Short version: Folder WAV keeps everything on your Mac. We don't track you, and the app doesn't send your sounds or your library to us or anyone else.
1. What stays on your Mac
To do its job, the app stores this information on your Mac only:
- the folders you add to your library;
- file names, durations, formats and other details read from your audio files;
- waveform previews;
- your tags, ratings and notes;
- the "Used In" history (which sound you dragged into which app, and when);
- your settings.
All of this is kept in the app's own data folder on your Mac. We can't see it. You can delete it at any time by deleting the app's data folder (~/Library/Application Support/com.ourhumanpower.folderwav).
2. What the app does not do
The app does not include analytics, advertising or tracking. It does not upload your audio files or your library information. It never changes, moves, renames or deletes your audio files.
3. When you buy a license
Purchases are handled by our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy. It collects your name, email address, billing country and payment details to process the sale, send your license key and meet tax laws. We receive your name, email address and order details. We never see your full card number. The payment provider's own privacy policy also applies: https://www.lemonsqueezy.com/privacy
When you enter your license key, the app sends the key and a random identifier for your Mac to Lemon Squeezy to confirm it's valid and to count how many Macs use it. Nothing about your sound library is sent.
4. When you email us
If you email us (for example with Help > Send Feedback), we receive your email address, your message, and the app and macOS version details included in the email. We use this only to reply and to fix problems.
5. Crash reports
If you got the app from the Mac App Store and chose to share crash data with app developers in macOS settings, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports. These help us fix bugs and don't identify you.
6. Sharing
We don't sell your information. We share it only with the payment provider described above, or when the law requires us to.
7. Your choices
You can ask us to see or delete the purchase and email information we hold about you by emailing contact@folderwav.com. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK or California), you may have extra rights, and we will honor them.
8. Children
The app isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
9. Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and post the new version on our website.
